Sophia finished her education in California and built a career in the Pharmaceutical Industry, but her heart always leaned toward creative expression. She found outlets through dance, painting, and eventually writing. Her grandmother, Sofia DeJesus, inspired much of her spiritual foundation and appears throughout her memoir as a guiding presence.
As a mother and wife, Sophia understands the complexities of balancing professional responsibilities with family life and personal growth. Grabbed this after someone at a conference wouldn’t stop talking about it. That part where Sophia’s thirteen and prays for three hours straight hit different. Been preaching fifteen years and somewhere along the way my prayers became performances. This book reminded me what it felt like to just talk to God without trying to sound pastoral.
